The mission of the Comptoir des Presses is to ensure the visibility of French and Francophone scientific production to both the scholarly community and to a public interested in humanities and social sciences issues.

Today, it offers on this site a catalog of books and journals in a wide variety of fields: anthropology, archaeology, ethnology, history, literature, psychology, sociology, political science... This catalog allows you to carry out advanced bibliographic and thematic searches and to receive regular personalized notices of new publications.

A shared mail order service

Le Comptoir has the necessary infrastructure to sell and ship as quickly as possible publications that are still too often considered unobtainable.

It thus guarantees the community of public scientific publishers an efficient and shared service, useful for the promotion and marketing of their production to a national and international audience.

The counter works in close collaboration with the Association des éditeurs de la recherche et de l'enseignement supérieur (AERES).

A presence at scientific and cultural events

In order to be a living showcase for French and Francophone publishing in the field of research and higher education, the Comptoir regularly participates in various scientific and cultural events (symposiums, conferences, salon, etc.).
