The Foundation manages and awards several Prizes. They are funded thought the legacy of scientific personalities or associations.
The Prize awards the work of world-class senior researchers working on “science and society” or “education and society”.
Created in 1998, the Louis Dumont Prize, with the support of the FMSH, discerns every year a field grant to a young researcher in social anthropology.
Foundation Mattei Dogan and FMSH’s prize is awarded every two years for an Excellent Phd Thesis in social History
Created in 2014, the Ariane Deluz Prize awards a field grant to a doctoral student preparing a PhD thesis in ethnology of Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Herman Diederiks Prize awards a distinctive article related to the history of crime and of international criminal justice.
