The FMSH Library's Document Collection

A multilingual and multi-support fund to support research in its innovative aspects
""

Conceived as a research center specializing in the human and social sciences with an international vocation, focused on inter- and multidisciplinarity, the FMSH Library's multilingual and multi-support collection was developed in keeping with the spirit that presided over the creation of the Fondation Maison des sciences de l'homme: to support research in its innovative aspects.

Active since 2010 in the ambitious Condorcet Campus project, the FMSH Library is contributing to the development of its Grand Equipement Documentaire (GED). Its holdings, built up over a period of fifty years, constitute one of the most important corpuses that make up the GED catalog.

The collection

The documentary policy, initially built essentially around sociology and history, based on the Ecole des Annales, has been enriched by supporting themes (philosophy, political science, linguistics, economics, etc.), by specific collections (History of women and gender studies, self-management), and, since 2010, by the archives of researchers managed within the library.

The Library's collection thus reflects the themes and innovative orientations of the SHS and gives pride of place to inter- and transdisciplinary work.
