"The Subject and the Human Sciences in the Face of Artificial Intelligence: The Future of Knowledge between Intelligence and Psychoanalysis" - Seminar in french

Discover the fourth session of the seminar series "The Subject and the Human Sciences in the Face of Artificial Intelligence: The Future of Knowledge between Intelligence and Psychoanalysis", organised by Paul-Laurent Assoun. The seminar examines fundamental debates as well as theoretical and empirical contributions, engaging specialists in the human sciences. It explores what the methodologies of the human, social, and psychological sciences can offer in fostering a critical awareness beyond current trends.

The first year of the seminar at Maison Suger established the epistemological foundations of artificial intelligence (AI) from its origins. Contributions from political science and psychopathology initiated interdisciplinary dialogue, while references to psychoanalysis highlighted the dialectic between unconscious psychological processes and digital processes. These findings will be presented in the introduction to welcome new participants and situate AI as a major issue with social implications, between science and ideology.

This year, the focus will be on AI's impact on the conception of knowledge and its prospective future. The seminar will also examine the future of psychoanalysis and, more broadly, the human sciences, with a focus on the status of the subject. A central and little-explored theme will be the relationship between psychosis and machines, or "psychotic intelligence", in connection with the "thinking machine" and the "machinic unconscious".
