This presentation offers a reflection on the status of the public space and the city that produces it and shows that at present it is built less as a common good of social and urban integration and more like a place of manifestations, resistances and citizen mobilizations who report disputes over control of spaces and conflicts for social, cultural, heritage and environmental rights.

Conference of the research programme Social Movements in the Global Age with Patricia Ramírez Kuri, Instituto de Investigaciones Sociales, Université Nationale Autonome du Mexique
