Discover the reality of the rescue operations carried out by volunteers to help people in distress at sea. - In French -

The Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme is hosting a screening of the film One by One, attended by Camille Guigueno, the director.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Camille Guigueno, Vincent Guigueno, co-author of the film, sea rescuer in Dunkirk and member of the Académie de Marine, and Camille Martel, PhD student in geography at the University of Le Havre Normandy, whose work focuses on the maritime nature of migration in the English Channel and the challenges associated with rescue operations.

This meeting will be an opportunity to look back on the rescue operations carried out in the English Channel since 2018, combining cinematic, historical and scientific perspectives.

About the film

Since 2018, more and more people have been boarding makeshift boats in an attempt to reach England. The volunteer sea rescuers of Dunkirk, true to their commitment, go out to rescue those who do not make it.
Back at the dock, in the cramped space of the boat, memories and images of operations resurface.
