Séminaire International de Sémiotique à Paris

Discover the second session of the International Semiotics Seminar in Paris: Enunciation(s) and passions in the semiotic territories opened up by Artificial Intelligence.

The problem of enunciation in the field of AI will be at the heart of our research throughout this seminar year.

The questions we see as most pressing in this context concern the machine's machinic (impersonal? quasi-personal?) enunciating instances. The focus on enunciating instances will lead us to reflect on the analysis of creativity (quasi-auctoriality?) assignable to the work of computation and its algorithms. In addition, we will need to consider that, within the framework of generative AI, linguistic forms of address and interaction management are relevant not only in the study of ChatGPT but also in the frameworks of robotics and immersive environments (more or less artistic, therapeutic, scientific or security-related).

Speakers:
  • Dario Compagno (Université Paris Nanterre)
Can artificial intelligence change our notions of truth and language?
  • Francesco Marsciani (Université de Bologne)
    Artificial intelligence? Ethnosemiotics of interaction
