Écologie et organologie de l'industrie
- Ecology and organology of industry. A fork in the road to eco-technology and new industrial localities -

The Maison Suger is pleased to host the seminar “Ecology and organology of industry” organized by Entretiens du Nouveau Monde Industriel Préparatoires (ENMI).

"Is it possible today to envisage a new ecology for industry? At first glance, the two terms seem so antinomic that current political events increasingly pit the defenders of the environment against the advocates of green capitalism or of enlightened techno-solutionism as the only possible remedy to the crisis. Far from any return to a post-industrial era, Shouldn't we first study the way in which industry reticulates itself into our intimacy? Following in Bernard Stiegler's footsteps, a hyper-industrial era as a way out of the productivist model, when the Convention and Saint-Simonism posited industry as a new revolution? The question of industry was already at the origin of the creation of the Ars Industrialis association in 2005, which proposed to start from this definition in order to criticize and go beyond it: “Industry is all about free capital investing in technology to boost productivity and achieve economies of scale.” How can we now rethink the question of productivity, and therefore production, in what many are calling a necessary “transition”? is proving to be, at least as far as energy is concerned, at best a consensual injunction because it is undefined, or at worst a scientific and historical untruth, as Jean-Baptiste Fressoz now maintains."
