Xavier Robichaud is a researcher at the Université de Moncton, Shippagan Campus, New Brunswick, Canada, where he has held a teaching and research position since 2017. He holds a doctorate in education from the Université de Moncton and a master's degree in music from the Université de Montréal. His research and publications focus on the pedagogy of creativity and the development of musical creativity in young people. In 2023, he undertook research into the use of a collaborative platform for music creation as a learning factor for young people.

Presentation of the project

“Creativity is a notion often used to underline the need to train creative individuals to contribute to the flourishing of society and to face up to its changes and challenges. This is why creativity is seen as a skill to be developed within schools to prepare children for a world in transformation. The question remains: can creativity be measured effectively? The aim of this oral presentation is to highlight the essential aspects of the concept of creativity and to present the preliminary results of ongoing research into the development of a tool for assessing creativity in music, supported by sound extracts.”
