Canal-U
A national higher education and research audiovisual platform

Specially designed to meet the needs of scientific audiovisual, Canal-U is a national higher education and research platform supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and coordinated by the Fondation Maison des sciences de l'homme.
Open to all knowledge-producing institutions, the platform makes it easy to create, free of charge and without obligation of exclusivity, a channel to host, promote and share video and podcast resources.
Entirely public, it guarantees an ad-free, sustainable and secure environment, perfectly integrated into the ecosystem of higher education and research.
Interviews, conferences, symposiums, courses, podcasts... thanks to its many contributors, Canal-U provides everyone with free and open access to a multidisciplinary and richly documented audiovisual collection.
With more than 300 channels and 36,000 resources, the Canal-U platform lets you see and hear the science of yesterday and today in all its diversity.
Since its creation in 2001 by the "Mission nouvelles technologies" of the Ministry of Higher Education, Canal-U has been part of the science open access movement.
Developed in accordance with FAIR principles (easy to find, accessible, interoperable and reusable), richly documented, the Canal-U platform facilitates the dissemination and sharing of scientific audiovisual content to as many people as possible.
Recognized in 2021 by the MESRI as part of its data policy, Canal-U is fully in line with the national system in favor of Open Science.
