Naomi Standen

Biographie

Naomi Standen est la première non-européenne à être nommée professeure d'histoire médiévale au Royaume-Uni. Ses recherches ont débuté par une fascination pour le fonctionnement des zones frontalières, en particulier dans le Liao (907-1125), puis se sont étendues dans le temps et dans l’espace. Elle travaille avec des textes, avec des archéologues et des médiévistes qui étudient toutes les régions du globe. Parmi ses publications, citons Unbounded loyalty: frontier crossings in Liao China (Hawai’i, 2007) et The Global Middle Ages (édité avec Catherine Holmes, Supplément Past and Present, 2018). Elle écrit actuellement une histoire globale de l'Eurasie orientale entre le VII^ème et le XIV^ème siècle.
