Sous les temps de l'équateur. Une histoire ancienne de l'Amazonie centrale

"Amérique(s)" series (Éditions de la MSH)
Le pays des passions tristes

Drawing on more than 30 years of research, the author chronologically brings to life the men and women who inhabited the Amazon in various ways, and who were behind numerous technical and cultural innovations.

By re-examining the history of the Amazon basin, Eduardo Góes Neves invites us, above all, to reconsider these ancient peoples who, it is suggested, deliberately refused to organise themselves into a state, thereby offering us a broader perspective on human history.
