Created by the french historian Fernand Braudel, the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2023.

Since 1963, the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme has been advancing knowledge in humanities and social sciences. Recognize as a public utility, for 60 years, it has perpetuated the ambition of its founder and is committed to:

  • Promote the free circulation of knowledge
  • Nurture interdisciplinary and intercultural dialogue
  • Disseminate research widely

Through the programs and services it develops for the benefit of all scientific communities, the FMSH supports and disseminates research that analyzes the complexity of our world and explores the common challenges facing our societies.
