Maria Estela Mansur

Chercheuse au CONICET (Centro Austral de Investigaciones Científicas, Ushuaia, Terre de Feu) ; Professeure à l'Université Nationale de Terre de Feu (Ushuaia). Diplômes en Anthropologie et en Archéologie à l'Université de La Plata (Argentine), Doctorat à l'Université Bordeaux I (France).

En tant qu'anthropologue et archéologue, formée aux lignes théoriques américaines et européennes, Maria Estela Mansur s'est efforcée, tout au long de sa carrière, de décoder l'histoire matérielle des sociétés passées. Son intérêt principal est l'analyse technologique et fonctionnelle des artefacts et des ecofacts, et la manière dont ils permettent de mettre en évidence les sélections et décisions humaines, de faire face aux processus complexes de l'organisation technologique et à leurs significations matérielles et symboliques.
