Sandra Contreras

Sandra Contreras is professor of Argentine Literature I at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario and principal researcher at CONICET (Argentina's National Council for Scientific and Technical Research), where she currently heads the Institute for Critical Studies in the Humanities (IECH).

She has published the books Las vueltas de César Aira (2002) and En torno al realismo y otros ensayos (2018), as well as numerous articles on contemporary Argentine and Latin American narrative and 19th-century Argentine literature.

She has also published El excursionista del planeta. Escritos de viaje, by Lucio V. Mansilla (2012). From its foundation in 1991 until 2013, she was one of the directors of the Beatriz Viterbo publishing house.
