inauguration du Comptoir, événement 60 ans FMSH

To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the Fondation Maison des sciences de l'homme (FMSH) is delighted to inaugurate "Le Comptoir", a new place to discover the world of the humanities and social sciences.

Located on the first floor of the Foundation, Le Comptoir combines the sale of books and journals with an original scientific and cultural programme. This unique venue is open and accessible to all from Monday to Thursday.

A reference for the human and social sciences

Le Comptoir offers nearly 30,000 references of books and journals offered by more than 60 academic publishers. An opportunity for everyone to discover the richness and diversity of knowledge in the humanities and social sciences produced by universities and research institutions.

A place for scientific meetings and discussions

Alongside the sales area, the forum of "Le Comptoir" hosts numerous scientific encounters aimed at a wide audience. Presentation of books, conferences, workshop, exhibitions, the forum offers visitors privileged appointments with the world of humanities and social sciences.

A place full of history

Designed from the start as a space for accessing knowledge, the first floor of the Foundation hosted one of the largest libraries in humanities and social sciences for over 50 years. Following its transfer to the Humathèque Condorcet in 2020, the FMSH wished to preserve the original spirit of the place. It dhas developed a set of services, open to all, dedicated to the promotion and sharing of knowledge in humanities and social sciences.
