Daniele Guastini is Associate Professor of Aesthetics at Philosophy Department, “Sapienza” University, Rome. Since 2008 he is member emeritus of the “Lorenzo Valla” Foundation. From 2008 to 2010 he has held Seminars at the CEHTA (Centre d'Histoire et Théorie des Arts) of the EHESS in Paris.
His research areas go from the Classical Philosophy and Poetics – his publications focus primarily on Aristotle, Plato, tragedy and on capital notions of the Greek and Hellenistic-Roman culture like mimesis, philia, eikon, phantasia, ekphrasis – to the Ancient Christian Doctrines, with specific reference to the birth of the Christian iconographical tradition and the history of aesthetics up to the Early Modern Age.
