Maria Estela Mansur

Researcher at CONICET (Centro Austral de Investigaciones Científicas, Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego); Professor at Universidad Nacional de Tierra del Fuego (Ushuaia). Degrees in Anthropology and Archaeology at La Plata University (Argentina), PhD at Bordeaux I University (France).

As anthropologist and archaeologist, trained in American and European theoretical lines, throughout my career I worried by decoding the material record of past societies. My principal interest is technological and functional analysis of artefacts and ecofacts, and the way in which they allow to highlight human selections and decisions, to deal with the complex processes of technological organization and with their material and symbolic meanings.
