Rethinking emancipation II

Seminar co-organised by Collectif Critique and Plural democracy and economy Research Initiative

The previous year was devoted to a dialogue between the fundamental texts relating to the issue of emancipation and the contemporary experiences of associations working with the group of research professors.

This year, it seemed necessary to delve more deeply into some themes that may help to grasp the slow political and ideological process that has led to the denaturing of the very idea of emancipation.

The seminar will be preceded by a specific session devoted to examining the current situation in Europe with the rise of populism, then alternate 7 presentation sessions emanating from associative collectives confronted with both historical and theoretical reflections on the theme of emancipation.

This seminar is organized by Gisèle Berkman, Pierre Dardot, Nicole Edelman, Richard Figuier, Jean-Louis Fournel, Christian Laval, Jean-Louis Laville, Jean-Claude Mamet, Claudia Moatti, Michèle Riot-Sarcey and Francis Sitel. The sessions will be in French.

It will be held at Peuple et Culture, 108 rue Saint Maur, 75011 Paris.
