A competition for ideas to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the trilateral program "Villa Vigoni"

Deadline for applications: September 15, 2018

In 2019, the program of the Vigoni workshops will celebrate its 15th anniversary. Since 2004, 40 workshops including around 600 participants from France, Germany and Italy took place. The program is key in the international scientific cooperation between our countries and its original concept has been an inspiration for other initiatives.

In order to celebrate this anniversary, the three initiators of the program - the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, the Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme and Villa Vigoni-Centro Italo-Tedesco per l’Eccellenza Europea – are organising competition for ideas related to an event that will take place at Villa Vigoni. The aim is not only to celebrate the existence of the program, but also to imagine some original contents that allow the trilateral cooperation to showcase its innovative potential. Propositions can be submitted by former participants, and by researchers that have never been part of the program. The call has no strict rule in terms of material and scientific organization, but the following criteria are mandatory:

  • Original content for a three-days meeting at a maximum at Villa Vigoni (including the days of arrival and departure);
  • A firmly trilateral orientation, implying the participation of French, German and Italian researchers
  • The emphasis should be put on the central element of the trilateral program: the use of French, German and Italian as specific languages
  • A balance between confirmed and young researchers
  • The promotion of the event – and, consequently, of the program and its scientific objectives – in the public sphere.

For this event, the DFG, the FMSH and Villa Vogini provide the organizers with 15 000 euros in total in order to cover transportation and accommodation costs as well as any other cost related to the event.

The proposals can be written in one of the three languages of the program (French, German or Italian) and must be completed by a summary in the three languages. Please apply by sending your PDF by September 15, 2018 to the following address:
