Sari Hanafi

Invited Researcher of the DEA programme Stay in France: from May 26 June 29, 2019

Sari Hanafi is professor of sociology at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and editor-in-chief of Idafat: an Arabic journal of Sociology. Since 2018, he is President of the International Association of Sociology. He was vice-president of the Arab Council for Social Sciences. He has done his work in the field of sociology of migration, political sociology, research policy, and the sociology of religions. He is the author of many articles and fourteen books including Knowledge Production in the Arab World: The Impossible Promise, published in Arabic (CAUS and English (Routledge).
