Mihaela Gabriela Stănică is lecturer at The University of Bucharest, Foreign Languages and Literatures, Faculty Member. She holds a doctorate in philology and she is an associate researcher of the French Regional Center for Advanced Research in Social Sciences (CEREFREA Villa Noel) in Bucharest. Particularly interested in the social mechanisms intended to normativize the cultural, she explores, in its research, the cultural construction of the binary genus, as well as the strategies of subversion of the bodily norms. Currently, she is a member of the research project ETMA - The representations of the foreign in literature and film art in the Maghreb, FEMAS - Masculin / Feminin. Gender, feminine condition and deconstruction of manhood in Maghreb literatures, the Heterotopos Research Center of the University of Bucharest and the CORPUS Center (International Group for the Cultural Studies of the Body).
