Associate researcher for the programme: The politics of images

Georges Didi-Huberman is a philosopher and art historian and lectures at the EHESS in Paris. He has published 50 books and publications on image history and theory. His most recent include: Peuples en larmes, peuple en armes [People in Tears, People at Arms] (Minuit, 2016), Phalènes. Essais sur l’apparition, 2 [Essays on Appearance], (Minuit, 2013), Essayer voir et Sentir le grisou [Trying to See and Feel the Methane] (Minuit, 2014), L’œil de l’histoire [The Eye of History] (5 volumes, Minuit, 2009-2015). He has curated several expositions, notably at the Centre Georges Pompidou, the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid, the ZKM in Karlsruhe, the Deichtorhallen in Hamburg, the Fresnoy, the Palais de Tokyo and, in 2016-2017, at the Jeu de Paume with a major initiative on the Uprisings.
